Java / Kotlin Senior Developer - software for Asset Managers

100% Remote (Company is New York based so you must be able to work EST timezone)

Salary c $175,000 - 200,000

This business is rethinking the way things have been done, using the latest AI technology, machine learning and UI design. They have recognised that the way technology has been adopted over the past 20 years, has made life more difficult and focused people on processes rather than solutions.

What they are developing for Asset Managers and other markets participants will allow them to trade and manage portfolios more effectively. The team is now growing as their product gets adopted by more customers, and they move from the initial pilot into production.

To join the team, you need to have practical experience in developing modern, complex systems. You'll have a passion for writing clear, concise, and practical code using the latest tools and development concepts.

Skills required:

• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin) or similar,
• Familiarity with real-time systems, e.g. Kotlin coroutines,
• Knowledge of Python or similar languages is beneficial,
• CI/ CD tool for automation of deployments such as GitLab, Kubernetes.

You will be joining a small team of developers and quants writing quality production trading systems code from scratch. The team is using other tools such as Docker, Grafana, Prometheus, Kafka. If you have an interest in the intricacies of trading, finance, and market microstructure, it would help.

The NYC team works 100% remotely, the business has a culture based on deliverables/output, and you will have the flexibility to work as best suits you. Other team members are really passionate about what they do, about building a successful product and company. They have been successful in gaining sufficient seed funding, and are led by a CEO who has been a successful leader in capital markets and so fully understands their customers and the particular pain points their product solves.
