We're looking for a talented and curious-minded "Jack of All Trades" Senior / Lead Backend Engineer who can tackle solutions in various tech stacks and can troubleshoot the entirety of the solution. Developing with the end in mind, you will work with a talented team of engineers consistently raising the bar on architecting and developing digital solutions while following best practices in development and design. Our back-end developers have an immediate impact on our business success, as well as the success of our clients.
Our ideal candidate has a unique blend of technical expertise and insatiable curiosity, with a methodical, analytical mindset. You should be comfortable working alongside a team as well as independently in the design and development of mission-critical websites, applications, and layers of the infrastructure.

In this role, you will work remote and can live anywhere in the continental United States. Compensation is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for visa or work authorization sponsorship.
Your primary focus: Developing server-side logic, selecting & integrating dependent services (database, messaging, etc), and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. Working as a team, you will collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and designers to deliver server-side applications while managing the interchange of data between the server and the users.

- An analytical back-end developer interested in architecting server-side solutions, whether they integrate with UIs or are used as service-to-service intermediate components.
- An engineer to the core who loves coding, has experience in multiple tech stacks, and is willing to go beyond their area of specialty.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understand the entirety of the solution — backend, frontend, infrastructure, deployment — at a level allowing you to think through the impacts of changes and troubleshoot issues
- Understand frontend web technologies, such as HTML and CSS, well enough to “walk the stack”, working with UI/UX professionals and frontend developers to solve problems and implement solutions
- Flexible and adaptable in developing tech solutions using different programming languages and frameworks that can plug in to a variety of technologies and environments:
- Web solution stacks such as Java/Spring, C#/ASP.Net, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Node/React, Cake/PHP, etc (experience with at least one solution stack)
- Backend API or enterprise microservices implementations with experience in at least 2 frameworks such as Java, Ruby, C#/.Net Core, Node, etc.
- "Devops" understanding of serverless cloud-based solutions using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
- Ability to integrate solutions with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Understand differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
- Experience with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Have successfully integrated multiple data sources and databases into one system
- Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
- Comfortable balancing two primary projects at a time
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future
- ES Next or Typescript frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular with either a frontend client-side focus or server-side full stack with Node
- Native application development experience for iOS or Android
