The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for providing BI solutions. This individual will have an immediate impact on enhancing operational and strategic data informed decision-making for the University. Through this role, this position would have the opportunity to provide insights that impact policy, practice and outcomes at Elon University working in a team environment to design, develop, and deliver enterprise business intelligence and analytic solutions. Education Requirements: Bachelor Degree

Degree/Major: STEM related

Length of Experience:

Minimum of 4 years direct work experience in an IT organization developing business intelligence solutions

Detail: Special Skills or Experience:

• Experience with BI technologies, such as SSAS, MS Power BI, Tableau and other BI applications.

• Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.

• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.

• Experience with BI development best practices such as agile methodologies, source code control, prototyping, and testing.

• Experience with developing data models.

• Experience with troubleshooting enterprise BI systems and processes.

• Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

• Demonstrated experience with enterprise scale databases and environments such as MS SQL Server, Cloud DBs or Oracle.

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supporting BI technology in a higher educational setting.

• Knowledge of industry trends including data mining, visualization and predictive modeling.

• Ability with SSIS or other related ETL tools.

• Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague data structure.

• Data warehouse analysis and design experience.
