About the Role:
Wiley is looking for inspired, mission-driven Software Engineers who can break down the world into objects and classes and cannot wait to try something new. We want software engineers who are excited to solve problems in new ways, and who think in terms of scalability, efficiency, and practicality, with exceptional customer experiences in mind.
How you will make an impact:
- Discover and implement new and improved technologies to solve customer problems and meet business requirements.
- Take ownership of services, customer experience, and team responsibility (think full cycle, full stack).
- Test-driven, continuous integration/deployments into production.
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment with data engineering, data science, product, SRE, etc.
- At least 5+ years of development experience using modern JavaScript technologies, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, NodeJS, and GraphQL.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and Event-Driven systems
- Experience with both relational databases and NoSQL
- Strong software architecture and system design skills
- Experience working with and automating AWS public clouds using APIs and configuration management software.
- Ability to arrive at cross functional solutions and explain them in technical design documents.
- Experience participating in on-call rotation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
