You’ll be working with a talented team of people who have built highly successful companies and globally-distributed systems at companies such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, Okta, Oracle, Cloudera, MongoDB, NewRelic and Twitter.

The Developer Experience team at Fauna is responsible for the dashboards, services, command line interfaces (CLIs), and other tools that developers use to interact with our database. As the Senior Engineering Manager for the team, you will lead a strong team of engineers and ensure that the experience of working with Fauna is delightful for our customers. You will own all aspects of how the team functions including growing engineers and staffing the team with world-class talent, working with Product Managers to shape requirements, implementing an effective delivery process, ensuring a high bar for technical delivery and service operations, and driving key outcomes for the business. You’ll be on the front lines in a fast-paced environment as we scale the company and shake up a $40B+ industry.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development as part of a team
• 5+ years of management experience leading teams of software engineers
• University degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Track record of building and maintaining high-functioning development teams and delivering results over time
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Javascript
• Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Understanding of foundational concepts in distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years doing professional software development
• 10+ years of management experience, including managing other managers
• Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives
• Polyglot with proficiency in multiple languages and frameworks such as Ruby and Rails
• High-level understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and data manipulation languages (DML) such as SQL
• Familiarity with release processes and CI/CD best practices
