The job:
Decentrix is offering an exciting opportunity to an individual with the right skill set and background to join our elite team and work with the most advanced Media Advertising Enhancement/Optimization Technologies. You would be using your business, technical & development skills in an extremely fast paced environment providing services to forward thinking media corporations.
As a software engineer at Decentrix, you’ll be part of a dynamic, talented, and collaborative team building applications using a microservice based architecture. You will be working collaboratively alongside other team members ranging from junior to senior in terms of skills and experience. Your day-to-day activities will be varied based on your skills and goals and may include building out RESTful APIs, optimizing backend services, building front-end components, evaluating new technologies and frameworks, and helping us craft our technical vision for the future.
Our applications are predominantly built using Scala, Java, Python, Angular, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript over SQL Server and NoSQL databases. We utilize a variety of technologies to host and manage our code such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Git, and Jenkins.

- have 3+ years of relevant experience
- are highly proficient and experienced in Scala and in one other language (e.g., Java, Python, Angular, C#, etc.)
- either know or want to explore functional programming
- have experience building RESTful services
- are proficient in or wish to learn Angular or other web-based frameworks
- insist on testing your code in a peer-coding environment
- are comfortable working in a structured release pipeline
- have a good understanding of distributed computing and cloud architecture
- excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and love problem solving
- want to learn and enjoy working with cutting edge technology
- possess excellent communication skills
- love to help others
