We have an exceptional opportunity for Data Architect that can help us disrupt the automotive and finance industry and take our technology to new heights. This person will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, and implementation of our data engineering capabilities at scale for Bridgecrest/DriveTime/SilverRock family.
In this position, you’ll expand the company's use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. You’ll be working closely with enterprise architecture, data engineers, analytics teams, and various stakeholders to take ideas from discovery to production with scalable and well-engineered solutions. This role will ensure that teams are successful in our data strategy modernization by partnering on roadmaps, providing technical guidance for new use cases, and defining solutions.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in the architecture, design and implementation of data management initiatives and best practices; including hands-on development and prototyping where needed
Partner with senior level engineers on architecture approaches to advance the data and analytics platform, including exploring new tools and techniques that leverage the cloud environment
Create and maintain architectural vision, diagrams, and technical documentation
Conducts research on POC technical solutions, internal enterprise capabilities, and provides a growth-oriented mindset
Coordinate and lead technical discussions and decision making
Guide, mentor, and influence architectural direction and principles adoption
Participates in the evaluation of new technologies and partnering with engineers to create innovation labs for applicability
Ability to quickly review, analyze, and understand complex system spanning multiple product teams
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Information Technology related field or equivalent experience
7+ years of related IT experience as a developer, engineer, architect, or similar role
2+ years of experience on container orchestration using Kubernetes and Apache Kafka, building appropriate producer/consumer apps
2+ years of experience designing cloud-enabled solutions in Azure or AWS or GCP
Extensive hands-on experience utilizing best practices to develop and deploy pipelines to a production environment.
Experience working with both real-time and batch data, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of both and when to apply one over another.
Ability to work with business and technical audiences on business requirements meetings, technical white boarding exercises, and SQL coding/debugging sessions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data engineering best practices including test automation, quality controls, reconciliation, documenting data flows, ect.
Well versed in Python, in fulling multiple general-purpose use-cases, and not limited to developing data APIs and pipelines
Experience with cloud database technologies such as Azure, Snowflake, or similar
Understanding of data science techniques and MLOps
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Argo, SSIS, Informatica, or similar
