Hi, we're Oscar. We’re hiring a Staff Software Engineer, SDET to join our Testing Automation team.

About The Role

Staff Software Engineer, SDET will be responsible for building Oscar’s state of the art automation framework for various UI applications ( Web/Mobile) , API, RDMS, BI. S(he) will be thought leader on designing a scalable solution and achieving the goals with his/her team. Highly talented in hiring, retaining software developers in tests. He/She will be collaborating with Teach leads, Product manager , developer to understand foundational gaps in testability of our digital member experiences.

You will report into the Quality Engineering Director. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to review system requirements and technical design documents to determine Test automation readiness
  • Create, design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts
  • Work with a world class engineering team to convert manual testing practices into automated checks where possible.
  • Devise test strategies to adequately cover requirements, develop high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, and elaborate scenarios into detailed test cases
  • Conduct testing, maintenance, and validation on all software products
  • Perform regression testing and debugging directly Verify code patches and bug fixes
  • Analyze and document test results and create detailed defect reports
  • Be an advocate for QA and SDETs, help rethink, and improve processes and metrics
  • Be on top of the latest frameworks and tools
Requirements
  • 7+ yrs on hands on experience as SDET/SDET manager to design, develop automation test framework for enterprise level applications
  • 7+ years of experience with automation frameworks testing Web Apps, Mobile Apps, API’s, using frameworks such as: Selenium, Xcode UI tests, and Appium
  • Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
  • Hands-on experience using source control systems such as GitHub and expert in git workflow.
  • Hands on experience with cross browser compatibility testing of web applications
  • Use of compatibility testing services such as browserstack or saucelabs
  • Hands on experience working with continuous integration tool
  • Experience using a test case management system
  • Experience using Jira and monday.com (We use both)
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum development environment
  • Mobile device testing on iOS and Android including phones and tablets
  • Hands on experience working with Web Apps, Mobile Apps automation (iOS and Android)
  • 4+ years of Python/Js, shell experience
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools
  • Expert knowledge of writing technical documentation/defects and issues
  • Proficient in writing comprehensive test plans
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and how to turn data into meaningful results
Bonus Points
  • Health tech experience is a plus
  • Telemedicine , EMR , insurance industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with playwright and cypress is a plus
  • Experience with Cucumber/Gherkin is a plus.
