Your role.

Plante Moran is seeking an intermediate to senior level Deployment Developer to join our team. The successful candidate must be competent to work on complex projects and apply intermediate to senior level technical knowledge to configuration management activities and projects.

You will assist in all aspects of Configuration Management, including process engineering, implementation and enforcement of configuration management, and automation procedures. You will collaborate with Application Development, Data Analytics, SharePoint, and Support teams. You should have hands on, proven experience with software development languages, systems and tools and must have solid experience with source code management as well as continuous integration and deployment practices.

Applicants will have held a recent role in configuration management using Azure DevOps and GitHub or similar tools in a software development or professional services team.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:
  • Establish and maintain configuration management repositories for managing source code
  • Develop configuration management plans to support software projects and products as needed
  • Apply hands-on experience with Azure, integrated with CI/CD software development through DevSecOps governance and practice
  • Deploy and provision Azure resources using build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub actions in GitHub for all Digital Solutions teams
  • Develop templates and scripts as needed to support provisioning and deployment
  • Assist management in adoption of tools and technology, methodologies, and innovations to achieve improvements in the delivery of solution development / system support / configuration management / security
  • Coordinate with other internal teams to develop guidelines, practices, policies, and standards for securing resources in Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Power Platform, and GitHub portals
  • Follow, educate staff, and enforce configuration management policies and best practices
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure the solution delivered conforms to standards
  • Ensure all configuration management and deployment documentation is created and maintained
  • Create and maintain Azure DevOps and GitHub project teams and sprints
  • Provide accurate estimates from analysis and design specifications for yourself and other team members
  • Develop automated tools and processes to support daily configuration management activities, software development processes, and continuous deployment and integration
  • Build and implement security controls in the development lifecycle, with a focus on automating security and compliance
  • Help identify security threats and make suggestions for improvements
  • Maintain a list of security, privacy, and/or compliance related technical debt and work with our teams to prioritize and remediate issues, and escalate if necessary
  • This role will face a variety of stakeholders and will act as a guide, coach, mentor, and trainer to the App Dev Domain Leads, partnering with them to develop accelerators to update strategies and roadmaps for DevSecOps integration with the Azure platform
  • Serve as primary owner/stakeholder for SecOps scanning/vulnerability tools focused on: open source/supply chain, secure coding, and container security
  • Guide, Coach, Mentor product teams on DevSecOps practices, understand and champion security and compliance aspects of DevSecOps
  • Perform current state analysis of an organization's DevSecOps against industry leading security standards, and provide recommendations for enhancement
  • Work with globally dispersed development teams that include offshore third-party vendors
  • Support on-going development projects by participating in project planning and estimation, standards development, issue resolution, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Participate in routine team meetings and documentation review meetings
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure solutions can be supported now, and in the future, by our teams
  • Maintain industry knowledge on technology/business solutions and future trends

The Qualifications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field preferred
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience with configuration and version management disciplines, along with automated and manual application deployment to multiple environments (Development, QA, Stage, Production)
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Visual Studio, and continuous integration is required
  • Expertise in scripting (PowerShell or bash)
  • Expert knowledge of Git
  • Experience with SQL, Power Platform, and SharePoint is required
  • Expertise in configuration management principles, tools, and procedures
  • Experience mentoring and coaching others
  • History of hands-on development in C# .NET is desired
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present ideas, secure direction, and facilitate technical discussions
  • Experience working as part of a team, using an agile methodology, to continuously deliver working software
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple issues or configuration problems quickly and concurrently
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of Terraform would be ideal
  • Experience creating technical documentation including solution architecture diagrams, designs, and operational support documentation is desired
  • Flexible and adaptable in learning and understanding new technologies
  • Availability to perform deployments during planned maintenance windows after business hours
  • This position may require occasional local and national travel
