The Role

Brightloom is creating an entirely new category of software-as-a-service for consumer brands -- the Customer Growth Platform. This first-of-its-kind platform enables automated digital engagement and personalized loyalty programs to transform customer experiences while delivering predictable and repeatable lifetime value growth for brands.

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Data Products team, you will leverage industry standard and leading edge Data Engineering tools and techniques to develop and improve all aspects of the data lifecycle with regards to our various products. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is invested in the customer journey to help ensure the best products are delivered to our customers, and who is eager to perform in a lead role on a growing team.

What You’ll Do

• Be Creative. Play a critical role in proposing, designing, and implementing data products backend solutions that tap into both your software and data engineering skill set.
• Collaborate. Work across teams to understand how business decisions impact data pipeline needs.
• Develop Solutions. Address operational efficiencies through improving performance, availability, orchestration, and throughput of data pipelines.
• Modeling & Analytics. You’ll become an expert on the inner workings of our data warehouse and pipelines to help ensure the highest quality data is fed to our machine learning models and insights products.

About You

• 5+ years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated accomplishments in designing efficient and scalable data pipeline architectures
• BA/BS in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated success working between disparate data systems, and building using software engineering best practices (high test coverage, code reviews, test automation).
• Expertise with cloud services and technologies that support data storage, pipelines, manipulation, orchestration, and telemetry
• Fluent in Python and one or more data frame platforms (e.g. PySpark or Pandas)
• Experience mentoring early-career engineers, and demonstrated success leading projects- from concept to production
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while learning new technologies.
• Have experience in communicating with stakeholders of a diverse nature, including technical and non-technical teams.

Bonus Points

• Experience supporting customer data warehouses and machine learning models in production.
• Experience working with Databricks and Distributed Big Data Computing environments.
• Passionate about working in the restaurant technology space.
