Description:
We're looking for an experienced developer who will apply engineering best practices to enhance and modernize our Enterprise Search platform(s) utilized by the organization's critical business applications. The role requires an agile engineering mindset, patience and persistence to solve complex problems, ability to get things done quickly but thoughtfully, and dig deep into technology. In a DevOps environment, you will move between diverse tasks, focusing on development and continuous integration practices, while helping to bring out the best in those around you.
A typical day for this role would involve the following types of responsibilities:
- Participate in agile ceremonies, actively communicating with agile teams in order to identify and remove blockers
- Work on integrations amongst multiple vendor platforms
- Work across the organization, engaging with stakeholders and co-working teams, to solicit and document requirements
- Write and update custom code within our search engine platform
- Develop and maintain CICD pipelines for developing and promoting changes in the search engine platform
- Act as the subject matter expert for the search service APIs consumed by other business applications
- Develop Custom API configurations to connect to sources within that are behind API service layers
- Conduct peer code reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years professional experience required, at a minimum, if candidate has the desired experience (***3- 8+ preferred)
- This role can be 100% remote.
- Has worked with integrations between SaaS providers, and the technical knowledge to map connections
- Basic understanding for security/authorization related topics
- Large scale enterprise implementation experience
- API Service development (e.g. REST based APIs development)
- Experience with SQL relational databases and NoSQL databases
- Experience with source control and CICD related practices and technologies to automate testing and deployment (e.g. Gitlab)
- Experience with containerized application development (e.g. using Docker or Kubernetes)
Preferred, but not required:
- Familiarity with Search Engines and User Interface applications that interface to them (e.g. Lucidworks, Microsoft Search, and SharePoint Classic Search experiences)
- Web development experience with modern JavaScript web frameworks, ES6, NodeJS
- 3 years experience with monitoring and performance management of systems
- Exposure to Infra as Code concepts and tooling Experience with CICD concepts, and tools including GIT, branching strategies and leveraging knowledge to assist in delivering an infrastructure as a product.
- Be a quick learner; Willingness to plan, do, check and adjust
- Be action oriented and have a strong sense of urgency
- Deliver on commitments
- Coach and mentor other team members. Team player
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a scrum team using agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira)
