Data Engineer

LOCATION: Remote. US only. Work Anytime
COMPENSATION PACKAGE: $90,000 – $140,000/yr

Title: Data Engineer

Requirements

• 5-6 years of relevant experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• Solid analytical SQL (programming/designed managing data) experience

• Experience building data pipelines and analytical data models (star/snowflake) -

• Experience defining and applying data management best practices

• Firm understanding of modern data platforms, their underlying data and distribution models, and how to select appropriate tools for given requirements

• Can demonstrate application of security best practices (compute, storage, and network)

• Expertise with popular analytical file formats (Parquet l, Delta Files - , ORC )

• Communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience

• Excellent collaboration and project management skills

• Has experience with data modeling -- having conversations with data owners / users to build conceptual and logical models

• Modeling experience includes dimensional modeling (star, snowflake)

What experience we think is nice to have

• PostgreSQL or MySQL experience
• Experience building Lakehouse architectures
• Effective skills to structure / develop large projects in Java, Python, Scala, Go,

Rust, Elixir or similar

• Demonstrated experience automating data-oriented tasks using DevOps & metadata
• Tools: Spark, Delta Lake, Iceberg, dbt, Alteryx, Airflow, Dremio, Starburst,

Tableau, Superset, Looker

• Experience with Data Vault modeling

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• SQL: 5 years (Required)
• Data modeling: 3 years (Preferred)
