The Job:

Are you an experienced Infra / DevOps Engineer looking to enhance your coding skills, taking processes you can do, and automating them into seamless machines? Or are you an experienced Software Engineer who’d like to do more than add business logic between getter / setters in CRUD API’S and instead develop infrastructure with your coding skills? Responsibilities:

  • Define, capture, interpret product/system requirements
  • Build, integrate, test, monitor and deploy code across multiple cloud platforms
  • Manage, track, and document changes to code
  • Deploy applications via automation
  • Drive secure, immutable infrastructure through infrastructure as code, thoughtful security practices and common orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Build infrastructure to support internal and external systems
  • Deal with the inevitable imposter syndrome, which clearly only you have
  • Drive best practices across the Platform Engineering organization

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to define, capture, interpret product/system requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in SRE and/or Infrastructure Engineering or equivalent experience as a full stack Software Developer, responsible for coding either/both application and infrastructure
  • Experience creating semi-complex interdependent code, like custom libraries and/or frameworks
  • Experience leveraging multiple methods of working such as CI/CD, Agile and a strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong understanding of branch/merge strategy, the development workflow and how it all ties back into an Agile engineering process
  • Reading through lists like these and finding seplling errors.
  • Strong experience using Infrastructure as Code, Configuration Management, & Orchestration tools (Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Control M, etc)
  • Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Systems architecture - including Unix, Linux (BSD, Arch, Ubuntu, Gentoo), OpenVMS, FlashCopy, HP/UX, Tru64.
  • Cloud and Virtualized Design - AWS, Containers, Clusters, Beowulf, Hadoop, Kubernetes
  • Scripting Languages - BASH, HTML, PHP, Python
  • Build and Release Management - ClearCase, GitHub, Apache, Make, CMake, Jenkins
  • Basic networking knowledge; TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, routing and HTTP.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a remote office and generally uses laptop computers, smartphones

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position
