As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers that is delivering and supporting client facing applications of PrismHR HCM SaaS solution built on modern technology stack using microservice architecture. The system currently supports over 2 million worksite employees and processes over 80 billion in annual payroll. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Architects, Quality and DevOps engineers, and other Engineering Managers to continuously deliver value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Software Engineering team in an agile environment to add features to our cloud software and refine user experience.
• Lead technical design and architecture for the projects
• Deliver high-quality code and features with a high degree of ownership
• Ensure code quality through use of software engineering best practices including code reviews, unit testing, peer programming etc.
• Balance competing priorities to ensure we effectively ship new features while resolving defects and managing technical debt
• Foster culture of continuous improvement and actively identify bottlenecks and ways to improve engineering practices and development process
• Mentor team members in technology, architecture, and delivery of applications
• Support a fail-fast and learn mentality to drive responsible innovation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in all phases of application software development/maintenance life cycles in a web-based SaaS environment
• 2+ years of experience of managing and developing a team of Software Engineers
• Experience with modern JavaScript development, with frameworks such as Angular, Node.js, Express etc.
• Experience in developing extensible REST APIs and highly maintainable services.
• Experience in Agile Software Delivery and Operations Management and people management
• Strong communication, with the ability to explain complex technical problems to non-technical audiences and the ability to translate customer requirements to technical designs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of modern microservice-based architectures and methodologies
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud vendor solutions like GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline
• Experience leading geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
• Payroll or HR domain knowledge is a plus
