As Head of Engineering, you will collaborate with the Head of DevOps and the Head of Product and Partners to lead the development, product, and technology organizations. You’ll infuse modern software development and tools, process, and strategies, be responsible for leading, recruiting, and growing the engineering team, and ensure the consistent delivery of a researched backed, unified customer experience.

- Collaborates with the Head of Product and Partners and the Head of DevOps to lead the development, product, and technology organizations
- Collaborates with all senior leaders across the company to establish, achieve, and maintain company goals
- Foster an engaged, collaborative team structure of feedback, coaching, and professional learning
- Define and own on-prem and SaaS solution technical vision and strategy in conjunction with addressing the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders
- Drive the technical culture so that the team obsesses over customer value, scalability, performance, security, and innovation
- Recognizes the business need for continuous customer and market research and the importance of company buy in to that process
- Strong communication skills with a shared focus on success
- Support the identification of solutions that meet the client’s needs and also align with the market
- Proactively take actions to ensure the business goals of our customers are met
- Identify, research, and solve SaaS issues
- Drive continuous improvements of software including proactively managing technical debt
- Active listening skills, ability to understand customers’ needs and solve in a timely matter
- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 10 plus years as a software engineer and lead developer, and 3 plus years managing staff and a proven track record in building and delivering software products.
- Continuous improvement mindset and experience successfully scaling technology and teams
- Understand business needs and can align them with the technical needs of an organization
- Recognize that failure is a necessary component of success
- Can distinguish between urgent and important and make the necessary decisions
- Understands and collaborates on the complete product lifecycle from concept to execution.
- Understands delivery of minimal viable products (MVPs)
- Build, develop, and manages the engineering team capable of carrying out initiatives.
- Experience working in a SaaS environment and with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Ability to mentor and lead other software engineers, code reviews, architecture expertise, ability to technically assist staff in solutions.
- Strong technical background that includes building modern web applications
- Experience with modern tool chains and process flows including TDD, CI/CD, Lean UX, UI/UX design, and DevSecOps
- Deep technical knowledge in at least one of these programming languages (C++, Java, JavaScript), web libraries (Typescript, React, Material UI), and data engineering languages (Python, Scala)
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and methodologies
