A Propulsion Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits that can be supported remotely. Great matching candidates will have 5+ years of relative design experience. You will be using 3D CAD Software to create 3D Models and designs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate improvements into the rocket engine assembly as a result of qualification efforts, improving quality, increasing longevity, reducing maintenance requirements, and reducing cost and production time.
- Design new components and refine existing designs and systems
- Facilitate design for manufacturability review of vehicle designs, coordinated with Manufacturing Engineers
- Evolve the design to facilitate production at scale, by taking ownership of product quality and establishing processes and procedures to support continuous improvement
- Detail these improvements within the CAD model, which your team will own, and release using appropriate configuration management processes
- Design components that include heat exchangers, pogo suppression systems, flexible elements, insulation, gimbal joints, primary and secondary structure, high pressure cryogenic fluid systems, pressurization systems, and hydraulic systems
Qualifications:
- BS or MS Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years proven experience in design of propulsion components
- Knowledgeable with GD&T implementation and analysis (ASME Y14.5)
- CREO or similar CAD software
- U.S Citizen
