Job Summary
PPL Services is looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer focusing on the build and engineering of Azure infrastructure and systems design. The Azure Cloud Engineer will play an integral part of the success of major infrastructure and operations projects. Individuals with strong experience related to Azure Resources and DevOps, Kubernetes , APIs, CI/CD automation platforms and pipelines are ideal for this position.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, support, and provision Azure resources, including SQL, Storage, Service Bus, VMs.
- Knowledge or experience with CI/CD tools, Azure DevOps, and GitLab Pipelines.
- Develop services, system, process and administration documentation, and user guides as needed.
- Work with and guide software development teams on systems and software architecture principles, and implementations for repositories, pipelines, and product system design within Azure design principles.
- Own the technical design and decisions for technologies and patterns across multiple platforms as assigned to the team.
- Logical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation, and communication skills with strong drive for results.
- Interest for Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud and will to constantly grow, learn and enhancing the skills in this area.
- May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
- All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or an alternate combination of education and experience with results in the equivalent job knowledge and skills.
- Understand microservice design and development methodologies.
- Windows systems design and configuration experience.
- Advanced scripting using declarative and imperative languages as needed. (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python)
- Advanced experience with code and automation platforms including, Azure, GitLab, Ansible/AWX Tower, Octopus Deploy.
- 5+ years of related experience in information technology.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience working as an Azure Cloud Engineer
- MBA or Master’s degree
