At Privy, we’re looking for a self-motivated, highly driven Frontend Software Engineer to join our Messaging team. Our team is focused on building applications to facilitate and support a new communication channel for marketers.

At Privy, we’re looking for a self-motivated, highly driven Frontend Software Engineer to join our Messaging team. Our team is focused on building applications to facilitate and support a new communication channel for marketers.
What You'll Do
- Solve technical problems with the largest impact, scope, and complexity for your team
- Contribute to an inclusive and equitable environment within your teams and among peers
- Proactively identify obstacles and propose, advocate, and lead the implementation of improvements that enable engineers to work more effectively
- Participate in the Privy incident management on-call rotation and collaborate with engineering leadership to improve the experience of being on-call
- Improve debugging and incident response techniques and codify solutions in runbooks
- You understand how to negotiate with Product Management to meet the user’s needs without sacrificing quality or accruing tech debt
- Professional experience with React or another modern JS framework (Vue, Preact, etc)
- Understanding of the fundamentals of web application development, frontend software patterns, common pitfalls, and performance considerations
- Excellent communication skills that drive clarity and regularly achieve consensus among peers
- Track record of improving the skills and performance of those around you
- Patience, resilience, and excitement to take on work even when it’s challenging, ambiguous or complex
- We organize into small empowered teams working collaboratively with designers and product managers
- We have a comprehensive test suite and automated software delivery pipeline
- We have a high frequency of deployment to production and low change failure rate
- We use Ruby on Rails for our backend and React on the frontend
- We host primarily on Heroku and use a few AWS services
- We leverage Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and Amazon Kinesis for our data storage and transport
