Description:
- Test and document software for client applications. Write code to create single-threaded, multi-threaded or user interface event driven applications, either stand-alone and those which access servers or services. Write, modify, and debug software for client applications. Use source debuggers and visual development environments. Requires a bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related experience.
- Involved in the development of software solutions to help automate our Next Generation Sequencing workflows from data management to analysis and visualization.
- Develop bioinformatics pipelines for massively parallel sequencing (NGS) genomic data
- Build new web application features to simplify data analysis for research scientists
- Help integrate upstream and downstream NGS systems via RESTful API
- Able to work independently on complex projects and overcome challenges
- Write clean, secure, testable code for a diverse ecosystem
- Experience with building bioinformatics pipelines using Python
- Exposure to Docker containers and a workflow language such as WDL
- A good working knowledge of sequencing data and genomic analysis
- Strong background of JavaScript, Node.js and React
- Experience building serverless web application with AWS lambda
- Understanding of agile software development and management methods including CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with and/or administration of laboratory information systems is a plus
- Experience with Java and Maven is a plus
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Computer Science, etc.). Masters in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or related field is highly desirable.
- 1-3+ years professional experience.
