The Role: Senior Software Engineer (PHP, MySQL, Node, Vue)

The Location: Remote, Hybrid or Boulder, CO Office


The Team: Markit Digital’s mission is to provide the tools and intelligence investors need to successfully navigate the complexities of global financial markets. The Advertising team creates campaigns, experiences and tools to engage our financial customers, activate leads and increase engagement with their unique products and tools.


The Impact: This role will bring great value to the advertising team first by helping complete an essential PHP upgrade and then will expand into creating innovative ways to increase the value of our ad serving platform and related User Interface through improved reporting, feed integration with vendors, etc.


Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only)


S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $76,000 – $179,500 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.


In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

Responsibilities


  • Contribute to a cross-functional agile team as we build, enhance, upgrade advertising and dynamic video platforms.
  • Guide the continuous improvement of your teams’ systems and applications
  • Maintain and enhance Vue applications, including new functionality.
  • Produce RESTful API applications in Node.js which adhere to specifications defined in Swagger 2.0/OpenAPI
  • Collaborate with some of the most talented developers in the field, and enjoy not having to have all the answers all the time
  • Share the Point of Contact (POC) rotation


What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field + 8+ years application development experience
  • Applicable experience using the following technologies:
    • JavaScript, HTML, CSS
    • React, Vue, or Angular
    • Node.js
    • PHP
    • C++, C# or Java
    • Writing SQL queries and procedures for relational databases like MySQL
    • Centralized version control system like Git or Subversion
    • RESTful APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
  • Experience with test automation and accounting for NFR’s like performance, security, maintainability, and stability
  • DevOps and observability: application monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Ability and flexibility to contribute to world class site uptime by participating in an on-call incident escalation rotation among peers.
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills


We Would Love To Also Have


  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience working with containers
  • Advanced Knowledge of OOP/OOD, design patterns, and SOLID
  • Experience with analysis and modeling of large datasets
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and automated testing
  • Experience using tools such as GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Artifactory, Consul, and Docker
  • Knowledge of Digital Advertising a plus
