The Yahoo Edge Engineering Group writes the code that runs Yahoo’s internal content delivery network (CDN). We ingest hundreds of terabytes of data on a daily basis from our CDN. This data is used to detect network issues, provide security and performance analytics as well as being used for anomaly detection. We are developing next generation technologies to enhance our users experience through complex, scalable data platforms, with ever growing and interesting challenges.
A Lot About You
We are looking for great software developers who: 1) Understand issues and requirements in working with big data, 2) Use agile development practices including unit tests, functional tests, continuous integration, and continuous deployment frameworks, and/or 3) Know languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript (NodeJS), Go, Python, and Ruby. The ideal candidate has experience in several of the following areas:

- Hands-on experience in developing scalable data solutions
- Experience with big data systems such as Spark, Storm, Flink, Oozie and Pig
- Have designed and developed tools for collecting and analyzing server data
- Thrive in a cross functional team on high profile, critical projects with high reliability and performance requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Software development experience in a high level language like Java, C, C++
- Excellent design, coding, debugging and testing skills
- The expertise to manipulate data through query languages
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
- Ability to incorporate the best ideas of others into your designs and convince others that your design is sound
- Ability to drive the problem resolution process from start to finish
