The IT Software Engineer II provides and utilizes technical skills across the software development life cycle including, but not limited to, planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. This role must be able to complete tasks on their own but will work directly on a product team to deliver value to their customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Exhibit the characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors.
- Deliver customer values through design and delivery of new applications and solutions that may include front end interfaces, backend processing, and logical/physical data storage.
- Maintain and enhance existing application programs as requested. Develop and implement program code based on design specifications using accepted programming techniques and standards.
- Create and maintain all necessary CI/CD steps to move changes with high confidence of quality and minimal effort.
- Preserve the integrity of company, customer, and dealer data. Efficiently use resources of all computer systems through program development techniques, including testing and debugging.
- Work with other developers and engineers (either internal or external) using techniques like pair programming, developer community events, or mod sessions.
- 4-year college degree with a major in Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ related experience.
- Strong knowledge of C#/.Net, HTML, and Typescript/JavaScript frameworks is required.
- Experience using Test-Driven Development and creating automated tests.
- Demonstrated experience developing one or more types of applications, such as mobile, web, cloud applications and web services using different technologies and frameworks (e.g. .NET, Angular).
- Experience in developing, deploying, debugging and/or consuming API’s and cloud components (Azure preferred).
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash.
- Able to understand and create common data formats such as JSON, XML, and YAML.
- Experience managing CI/CD tools (Such as GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Azure DevOps) and source code version control tools (such as GitHub).
- Working experience with different datastores such as blob storage, relational databases and Non-relational (“NoSQL”) databases.
- Experience with different containerization tools such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Able to maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with team members, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to improve solutions according to metrics and customer feedback.
- Can problem solve and digging into technical challenges. Ability to deliver simple solutions to complex problems and preventing issues from reoccurring by finding and improving root causes.
- Demonstration of attention to detail with a sense of accuracy.
- Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience bringing Software Development Life Cycle and DevOps principles to a delivery team to drive improvement.
