As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will develop and maintain software to test the Trello product. You should have a solid foundation in test architecture as well as in-depth knowledge of quality assurance. A candidate will drive automation test strategy and educate developers on the creation of acceptance test automation. Additionally, you will have opportunities to recommend improvements to existing tools and processes in order to improve quality, efficiency and speed of the team.
Trello is a web-based, Kanban-style, list-making application. Users can create their task boards with different columns and move the tasks between them. The tool can be used for personal and business purposes including real estate management, software project management, school bulletin boards, lesson planning, accounting, web design, gaming, and law office case management. Over the years Trello has grown to over 50 million users!
Responsibilities
Work with QA engineers, developers and project managers to design, develop and document an automation test strategy with well defined goals
Define, prioritize and create end-to-end automation for key scenarios
Create automation suites for acceptance criteria of product capabilities
Train developers and QA engineers in chosen test frameworks and best practices
More About You
4+ years professional experience in a software development team
2+ years of experience designing and building production-level web applications
Previous experience as an SDET and proficient in at least one of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript/ Node.js
Proficiency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python, Javascript, etc.)
Experience writing functional, unit, integration and acceptance tests
Fully understand and have worked on a team that has successfully implemented a process leveraging BDD
Experience working on team building a high-scale customer-facing web product
Great communication skills and can act as an advocate for testing processes and quality
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines - Bitbucket Pipelines
