The Senior Software Engineer will work directly with the Head of Engineering to oversee all app development for Skiptown, the all-in-one ecosystem for pets and their people offering a full suite of pet services and a dog bar & park.

As our Senior Software Engineer you will:

• Write code for a primary stack of React, React Native, NodeJS, and MongoDB
• Architect new applications and features together with the engineering & product teams
• Review pull requests and help conduct code reviews
• Help create and enforce Skiptown code, style, and development standards
• Deploy applications to production, including Apple App Store & Google Play Store
• Help us build more resilient and flexible systems as we expand to new markets

The ideal Senior Software Engineer is someone who has…

• 5+ Experience leading the charge on complex production applications and systems from the database all the way to the front end
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing code
• The skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people and ensure quality standards are met
• The ability to look out for the end user and cares deeply about creating quality software
• The balancing act between knocking out technical debt and creating new features down to a science
• The ability to get it done themselves, but wants to empower other engineers to learn and grow in their careers as well

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Deep experience with react, react native and NodeJS
• Experience reviewing others’ code
